Joseph Kony (born c. 1961) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA is a militant group with a syncretic Christian extreme religious ideology. They are known for the extreme atrocities they commit against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism. [Source: Wikipedia]
On the other hand, Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony’s rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity. [Source: Invisible Children]
People could have different reactions regarding Invisible Children’s viral video but one thing is for sure — someone out there needs help. If reposting this video will trigger on raising support for Kony’s arrest, I’m on it.
“We’ve seen these kids. We’ve heard their cries. This war must end. We will not stop. We will not fear. We will fight war.”
